Hello Chicago. Your lights are like fireflies in my heart.
A much-awaited retreat to this magnificent city, visiting family and creating memories that will last a lifetime. We made our way to Gabe’s apartment where we freshened up, enjoyed a welcome bevy & charcuterie board while giving the furry pups lots of loves. Then off to sip on some bubbles at Pops for Champagne — they know the way to me heart! Two glasses and a few lite bites later we made our way to Barrio for some delicious Mexican food. Not a bad way to begin our adventure!

Rain, rain & more rain. Even historic rainfall and flooding couldn’t keep us indoors. We began the day with a delicious breakfast at The Dawson. The Guava muffin with the cereal milk was to die for. After a relaxing and digesting a bit we ventured to Puttery for some indoor mini golf & drinks. Such a blast. Even got a hole in one! We ended the evening with a fabulous local Italian dinner at Antico Chicago.

After enjoying a leisurely morning we headed off to hot yoga at Ritual — boy was it hot! We all had a great sweat and burned some calories. Lunch was at Left Coast Food + Juice. After showering up we had a dink & charcuterie at The Up Room at the top of The Robey. We were able to enjoy appetizers on the balcony of Brice’s new condo. Dinner was a “sushi-zza box” from Tanuki Sushi. Yum!

Happy 4th of July! Spent another relaxing morning sipping coffee and entertaining the pups, Riley & Charlie. We had an amazing lunch at Beatnik on the River — the ambiance is spectacular. To burn a few calories and enjoy the perfect weather we strolled along the river, stopping for ice cream at Sweet Home Gelato. Capping off our downtown adventure, we grabbed a drink on the rooftop at London House Chicago. After a long day in the sun we decided to spend the evening relaxing, eating burgers & fries. We finished the night with a beautiful and delicous dessert charcuterie board — thanks Gabe! — as fireworks went off.
