A getaway to Carmel for relaxation and rejuvenation unfolds with a gentle hike along the Soberanes Trail, leading to the panoramic views of Whale Peak.

Strolling through downtown Carmel, the atmosphere is filled with an artistic and whimsical allure. Our first stop is a leisurely lunch at La Bicyclette. With its rustic charm and French-inspired cuisine, we simply can’t go anywhere else. We default to our usuals — seasonal salad, champignon truffle pizza and wine!

We venture on, soaking up the charm of the storybook cottages, unique storefronts and flower-lined streets. A visit to the Pilgrim’s Way bookstore unveils a hidden gem — a secret garden at the back, providing a tranquil escape for exploration. The Cottage of Sweets is next up, with an array of confections, we fill our bag with dark chocolate turtles and a giant peanut butter cup.

With so much to see and do, we always have something in mind for our next visit. Perhaps some clothes shopping at Paloosh or popping for a wine tasting at Dawn’s Dreamery. Or maybe even trying a new place for lunch… maybe!
